One customer asked how I was doing today. And I said good. Then he asked how I was really doing, and said he wanted an honest answer. So I gave him one. I told him I really was doing good, but I felt like I was being kind of over the top nice with customers, I felt like I was being kind of fake. So he told me, "Well fake nice can be nice too. And I wouldn't know the difference." It makes sense right? You can either fake nice until you really mean it, or even just be fake and people will still think of you as a nice person.
Being fake has always been a pet peeve of mine. Fake people really really bother me. And I hate it when I'm fake to other people. I'm way more of a straight forward person, not beating around the bush, and just saying it how it is. I mean, why sugarcoat it? But when I'm in the position of representing a company as a cashier and dealing with customers, it's hard to just say it how it is. And I'm put in a position sometimes where I have to be fake. And that's ok. Especially since today I learned that being fake nice can sometimes be nice too. :)
